Compliance with Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005
Compliance with Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005
As a business operating in the UK, you are legally required to comply with the provisions set out in the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005 (RRFSO 2005). This legislation places a duty on employers, building owners, and occupiers to ensure that appropriate fire safety measures are in place to protect the safety of all relevant persons (employees, visitors, and others) who may be affected by fire hazards.
Compliance with Fire Safety Act 2016
The Fire Safety Act 2021 commenced on 16 May 2022 and amends the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005. It replaces fire certification under the Fire Precautions Act 1971 with a general duty to ensure, so far as is reasonably practicable, the safety of employees, a general duty, in relation to non-employees to take such fire precautions as may reasonably be required in the circumstances to ensure that premises are safe and a duty to carry out a risk assessment
Compliance with Building Safety Act 2022
The Building Safety Act 2022 is aimed at improving safety in multi-occupancy buildings, including Houses in Multiple Occupation (HMOs) and communal areas of flats. Given the risks associated with shared living spaces, the Act enforces stricter regulations on landlords, building owners, and developers, ensuring they take responsibility for fire and structural safety.
